Bubble Gum Madonna is a bubbly piece created to present lightness and fun onto the idea of reverence. It brings together a series of elements that build up to an image designed to bring joy. 

Our central figure is a silhouette of the famous statue, Venus de Milo, by Alexandros of Antioch in 130 BC. The ancient Greek sculpture from the Hellenistic period is believed to depict Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty. This silhouette acts as our main subject and provides a porthole through which we can see a line drawing of a girl holding a series of books, she is our key.

Our Madonna radiates a glowing shower of color. In the distance, an object looks down, at her feet is purity and abstractness scratched out of the earth.

This work is one of two with the Venus de Milo. This series allows us to see further, and look beyond the immediate landscape.
